2023 is shaping up to be a very great year for video games. Here are some of the heavy hitters you should be watching out for.
Redfall
Redfall is an upcoming open-world, first-person shooter video game developed by Arkane Austin and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game is set on the island of Redfall, Massachusetts, which has been overrun by vampires following a scientific experiment gone wrong. Players can choose from a variety of characters with unique abilities to battle against the vampires and uncover the secrets behind their emergence. The game will feature both single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes, and is set to be released exclusively for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Release date: May 2nd 2023.
System Shock Remake
This title has been a long time in the making. Developed by Nightdive studios it is a remake of the 1994 classic System Shock. Set in a space station that has been taken over by the evil and rouge artificial intelligence called SHODAN.
Release date: May 30th 2023.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
What can be said about this game that has not already been said? The “legend” that is The Legend Of Zelda returns with a sequel to the ever popular 2017 game Breath of the Wild.
Many a Zelda fan has been awaiting this for the last 6 years.
Release date: May 12th 2023.
Hogwarts Legacy – Playstation 4 / Xbox One
Released earlier in the year for next generation consoles and which had …. a bit of controversy due to the Harry Potter creator’s certain comments, but video games fans loved it. Accordingly it sold like hot cakes too. One can only assume the same will happen with it is released for the PS4 and Xbox One.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure video game developed by Daedalic Entertainment. The game follows the journey of the iconic character Gollum, from J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” series. Players will take on the role of Gollum and navigate through the perilous Middle-earth landscape, facing various challenges and enemies along the way.
The game is set in the period before the events of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, where Gollum is captured by the Dark Lord Sauron and interrogated about the whereabouts of the One Ring. The game explores Gollum’s internal struggle between his dual personalities of Smeagol and Gollum, as players must make decisions that will shape his destiny and ultimately lead to the discovery of the One Ring.
The game features stealth-based gameplay and platforming elements, with players being able to use Gollum’s agility and stealth to traverse the environment and avoid enemies.
